Welcome to Rocky Drift Co.
An authority blog covering fly fishing on the South Platte and beyond — hatch reports, gear that actually works, and the rivers we fish.
This is the first post on Rocky Drift Co.
The plan here is simple. We fish the South Platte — Cheesman Canyon, Deckers, Trumbull, the tailwater all the way down — and we write about what works. No hype, no padded “best of” lists, no fishing-blog filler about why fly fishing is good for the soul.
What you’ll find here:
- Weekly South Platte hatch reports with actual flow data and what’s hatching this week
- Gear reviews of equipment we own and fish — Scott rods, Winston, Ross, Skwala, Simms, the real stuff
- River guides to the sections worth driving for
- Fly selection for the bugs that actually matter on this water
If a piece of gear isn’t worth your money we’ll say so. If a section of river is over-fished we’ll tell you that too. Some links on this site are affiliate links — they don’t cost you anything extra and they help keep the lights on so we can keep writing.
Tight lines.
